follow me on facebook home mindfulness yoga one-to-one pregnancy yoga audio files gallery location get in touch welcome... stress and depression and poor physical health are all helped enormously by mindfulness meditation and yoga. my name is susanna and i have spent my life practicing mind and body therapies. discovering a sense of well-being through being in the present moment, fully alive within your body and able to quieten a frantic mind, can profoundly change your life. i welcome you to this website and hope that you will find inspiration here to learn more, feel healthier, more joyful and contented. my aim in teaching mindfulness meditation and yoga is to help and support you in finding your own personal route to the peace of mind, the able body and the well-being you seek. i have spent my own life on a personal journey towards health and happiness. it has not all been easy; life brings all of us challenges, sometimes it demands “nothing less than everything”, to quote t.s elliot. and yet life can be wonderfully rewarding and fulfilling; if we have the resources to tap into its deepest secrets of tranquility, we can thrive in the midst of challenge and difficulty. for myself, meditation and yoga have enriched my life and i gain huge joy from sharing what i have learned with others through my teaching. i very much hope you will find something here which speaks to you, and i invite you to come for an initial exploratory session to see if what i offer could be of help to you. susanna about me yoga and meditation are the place i come home to. no matter where i am in the world or in my life, no matter how happy or how sad, i always find a place of connection in my practice. connection to wiser, calmer self, and connection to life with a capital l. as a survivor of childhood abuse and a life-long trauma-holder, i am frequently required to take care of myself. in learning to take care of myself, and in building a life of joy and happiness, i have found that i have the capacity and desire to work with others who also struggle with what life can bring. the most important thing i have learnt is that love and kindness really are the bedrock on which well-being can be built. it is available to us all, if only we have the guidance to access it. joy is here, just hiding behind the clouds sometimes! the mind and the body inter-weave to give us many routes into self-discovery, healing and happiness. whether you wish to journey via yoga and the body, the breath, or the awareness and the mental faculties, the simple act of coming to the moment and paying attention yields incredible possibilities for living differently. if you would like to explore how any or all of this might be of use to you please make contact and we can arrange an initial exploratory session. i have included some further information on both the mindfulness and yoga pages about my own personal journey, which may be of interest to you. some facts: i qualified as an iyengar yoga teacher in 2002 and have continue to develop my knowledge and skills with the british wheel of yoga, chloe freemantle and pete blackaby (scaravelli approach teachers) and birthlight for pregnancy and post-natal yoga. i have had a daily meditation practice since 1986, and have studied with a variety of traditions but since 2009 i have been drawn to the teachings of buddhist psychology. i am not officially a buddhist and i teach mindfulness from a secular training but the compassion and care of this approach makes my heart sing. i marry the ancient aspects of meditation with recent neuro-biology and psychological research. i regularly attend week-long silent retreats and i keep myself up to date with current research developments in accordance with the uk network of mindfulness teachers good practice guidelines. i graduated with an msc in teaching mindfulness from bangor university in 2015. i hold a certificate in person-centred counselling skills from uea (2017) and i value enormously carl roger’s philosophy of the inherent wisdom of the individual. i teach according to the principles of person-centred theory and in line with the ethic of the bacp and the good practice guidelines of the mindfulness network. classes are taught in the new practice room , the hut at hill house, in my garden in cley, nr257rz. if this is of interest to you please do drop me an email .
